Deborah Coleman is an award-winning photographer and visual storyteller who has spent over twenty years capturing the people, ideas, and moments that shape culture.

She began her career photographing presidents and heads of state for the White House Photo Office during the Clinton administration, and went on to become Pixar Animation Studios’ first in-house staff photographer. At Pixar, she collaborated with PR and marketing teams, filmmakers, and executives to design and deliver visual campaigns that defined the studio’s global brand.

Deborah has documented milestones ranging from Buzz Lightyear’s induction into the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the creation of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (from Nine Inch Nails) and Jon Batiste developing the Academy Award-winning music score for Soul, and behind-the-scenes stories of Pixar’s most beloved films.

Her photography work has been published in Vanity Fair, Wired, Variety, Vogue, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, and in the exhibit PIXAR: 25 Years of Animation at the Oakland Museum of California. Her work has also been featured in films including Leslie Iwerks’ The Pixar Story, and in books including Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull and To Infinity and Beyond: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios.

Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from UC Davis, and worked as a staff photographer at The Contra Costa Times (California), Fort Worth Star Telegram (Texas), and The Palm Beach Post (Florida).
