Tamsen and Robert told me that their ceremony would be fast because they really just wanted to celebrate with their close friends and family. However, their ceremony, which was officiated by their good friend, was clever and emotional – highlighted by Tamsen and Robert reciting the recipe for making a Dark and Stormy cocktail and drinking one together, a tearful vow exchange and the surprise of choosing the same poem to read to each other.
Nick’s Cove, Tamsen and Robert’s favorite place on the California coast, was the site for the weekend’s celebration. They have fond memories of staying there years ago and wanted to share the magic of the place with their friends and family for their wedding.
After the ceremony on the pier, everyone headed back to the restaurant for an impressive raw bar of oysters and other local fare. Tamsen’s attention to detail shined through on the day, from hiring The Poetry Store to write prose for guests, to honey jars for everyone to take home from Tamsen’s honeybees, to a night cap around the fire pit on the beach with smores and sparklers.
