Be grateful every day. That was the message taken away after spending the day capturing Morgan and Jan’s Berkeley Hills wedding. Despite bizarre summer rain pouring down on their August outdoor wedding, Morgan and Jan didn’t let anything dampen their happiness. They literally were glowing all day.
After it was clear the rainy weather wasn’t going away, the reception hall tables were quickly moved to the sides while Morgan and Jan’s family and friends stood around the fireplace to create an intimate ceremony spot. Once Morgan and Jan entered the room, not a dry eye could be seen in the room. Even though this was not the plan, the ceremony was one of the most poignant ones I have seen.
Jan and Morgan are such empathic individuals. Morgan describes Jan as one of the most loving people she knows. He would fly back to Denver often to physically and emotionally care for his father, who recently died from cancer, while providing emotional support for his mom and sister. Likewise, Jan is very proud of Morgan — in the way she cares for people in need through her social work practice and her dedication to continuing to work on her sobriety in AA.
It may not have been part of the plan, but Morgan and Jan made their rainy wedding day one of the most memorable and happiest weddings to capture. Morgan and Jan, thank you for showing all of us that it’s all about perspective. Life is good.
